Information You Choose to Send
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Middlesex County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its own privacy policy.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or use a contact form, we retain the information needed to read and answer the message. We do not share a message outside the organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure.
Technical Details Collected Automatically
Like most websites, routine logs and service providers may record technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:
- The Internet Protocol address used for the visit
- The browser name and version
- The device category and operating system
- Pages opened and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- The date and time of each request
Cookie Controls
Cookies and similar storage help measure how visitors move through the site. A browser can reject or delete cookies. Blocking them may cause advertising, analytics, or other site features to work differently.
Purposes for Using Information
- Operate the site and maintain reasonable speed
- Send a search request to the appropriate partner tool
- Understand which Middlesex County record pages visitors use
- Diagnose errors, abuse, and technical failures
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
Privacy Beyond This Website
Links may lead to CT DOC, the Connecticut Judicial Branch, VINE, federal locators, public-record offices, and third-party search services. Connecticut public records are governed by applicable law, including the Freedom of Information Act in Chapter 14 and its Sec. 1-210 and Sec. 1-212 provisions, but each destination controls its own website and privacy practices. Review the destination's notice before submitting information.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to recognize activity across more than one website and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the advertising partner's technology, not through a personal search-term log kept by this site.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be provided or transmitted to:
- Search partners that process a query submitted to their tool
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and use
- Advertising networks that serve or assess ads
- Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard safeguards suited to a public website and limit data handling to ordinary operational needs. No website, network, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot promise that a breach, interception, loss, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, use the Get in Touch page to ask that it be deleted.
Choices About Personal Data
Subject to applicable law and the limits of the information we hold, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data held about them
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask for deletion of information that may lawfully be erased
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where that choice applies
A request does not reach CT DOC, a court, VINE, or a search partner. Contact that record holder or service directly for data it controls.
Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may revise these practices as services, legal duties, or site operations change. An updated version will appear on this page and will carry a new effective date when posted.
