Connecticut has a crucial re-registration rule. The BOPP Victim Information page says someone registered for VINE updates on an offender's court case may need to register again for inmate-custody updates under the inmate ID number. A court-event registration and a DOC custody registration are not always the same request.

For Connecticut state custody, compare the VINE event with the CT DOC inmate information search. CT DOC can show current custody or supervision wording and release-related dates where available. Its data is updated daily and can change fast. A person may leave physical custody but remain on parole or special parole, so “released” does not always mean “discharged.”
Use the Judicial Branch docket for the legal event behind a Middlesex release. Bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, or a later order may explain why the person left Hartford Correctional Center. The docket alone may not prove physical departure, especially when another case or detainer exists. Pair the court result with DOC or facility confirmation.
Federal prison records belong in the BOP inmate locator. If a BOP release date is in the past and no facility is listed, BOP says the person is no longer in BOP custody.
